Hygienic condition of teaching environment in primary and middleschools in Datong City,Shanxi province from 2019 to 2023
Objective To understand the hygienic condition of teaching environment in primary and middle schools in Datong city,and to provide the scientific basis for the development of school health inspection and school health management strategies for health and education administrative departments.Methods The data from the summary table of national random sampling information on teaching and living environment of primary and middle schools in Datong,Shanxi Province from 2019 to 2023 were selected in the National Health Inspection Information Reporting System,and the five selected teaching environment indicators were evaluated according to relevant national standards of school hygiene,as well as the differences between urban and rural areas were compared.Results The total qualification rates of various indicators of teaching environment in primary and middle schools in Datong were 76.17%for desks and chairs,81.80%for classroom daylighting,78.99%for classroom lighting,87.43%for classroom area per capita,and 97.94%for classroom ventilation facilities.Among them,the qualification rate of desks and chairs presented a significant upward trend.The qualification rates of classroom daylighting,classroom lighting,and per capita classroom area had all experienced a decline in certain degree over the past five years and then rebounded.The qualification rate of classroom ventilation facilities had remained stable at over 90%over the past five years.Conclusion The hygienic condition of teaching environment in primary and middle schools in Datong City shows a positive development trend from 2019 to 2023,but the level of desks and chairs,classroom lighting,and classroom daylighting qualification still needs to be further improved.
