Serotyping and drug resistance of Salmonella isolated from foodborne diseases in Tianjin,2017-2023
Objective To investigate the serotype and drug resistance characteristics of Salmonella isolated from patients with foodborne diseases in Tianjin during 2017 to 2023,and provide insights into management of Salmonella infections. Methods Salmonella isolated from stool samples of foodborne diseases patients in Tianjin from 2017 to 2023.Serotype and antimicrobial susceptibility test was according to the manual of foodborne disease surveillance. Results A total of 820 strains of Salmonella were detected and the male to female ratio of the positive cases was 1.12:1.Among different age groups, the 18-60-year group has the highest detected composition.A total of 60 serotypes were characterized in 820 Salmonella isolates, and the main serotypes serotypes were S.Enteritidis(53.29%),S.Typhimurium(15.37%),S.Typhimurium monophasic variant(4.02%)and S.London(2.80%).The resistance rate of Salmonella was higher to ampicillin(75.73%)and sensitive to imipenem(1.95%).The resistance rate of among cephalosporin antibiotics, the first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic cefazolin had the highest resistance rate,at 39.76%.The resistance rate of Salmonella to ampicillin, ampicillin sulbactam, and ciprofloxacin presenting an upward trend. And the difference between years was statistically significant(P<0.05).The multidrug-resistant rate was 67.44%,the multidrug-resistant phenotype is relatively widespread. Conclusion There are multiple serotypes and S.Enteritidis being the most dominant type. The multidrug-resistance rate of the Salmonella strains was high, indicating a serious drug resistance situation.Monitoring should be strengthened high proportions.
