Determination of nineteen pesticides in drinking water and waste water by ultra-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry
Objective To establish a method for the determination of nineteen pesticides in drinking water and waste water by ultra-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. Methods The water samples were directly determined on ultra-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry after being filtered by PTFE filter membrane. The pesticides were separated by C18 column(2.1 mm×50 mm×1.7 μm)using a programmed gradient elution with a mobile phase of methanol and 0.1%formic acid aqueous solution. The pesticides were detected by MRM negative or positive ion mode. Results In the range of 0.004-500 μg/L,the regression equations of 19 pesticides showed a good linear relationship,r ≥0.998 9.The limit of detection was 0.001 0-2.500 0 μg/L,and the lower limit was 0.004-10.000 μg/L.The recoveries of water samples from drinking water and source water at three concentrations were in the ranges of 86.0%-106.0%and the relative standard deviations were in the ranges of 0.9%-5.7%.The recoveries of waste water at three concentrations were in the ranges of 85.2%-97.6%and the relative standard deviations were in the ranges of 3.6%-8.4%.Conclusion The sensitivity, accuracy and precision of the method all meet the requirements of the determination of pesticides. The rapid, efficient and high-throughput method is applicable to the determination of pesticides in water and waste water.
