Determination of epichlorohydrin in drinking water by automated solid phase extraction-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry
Objective To establish a method for the determination of trace epichlorohydrin in drinking water by automatic solid phase extraction with gas chromatography and mass spectrometry.Methods The drinking water samples were extracted and concentrated by coconut shell activated carbon column-automatic solid phase extraction system,eluted by dichloromethane.After nitrogen blowing and concentration,epichlorohydrin was determined by GC-MS.Results The regression equation for epichlorohydrin showed a good linear relationship in the range of 10-1 000 μg/L,r=0.999 5.The limit of detection was 0.006μg/L and the limit of quantitation was 0.02 μg/L.The average recoveries were 83.9%-90.2%and RSDs were 3.2%-6.1%.Conclusion The method is highly automated,stable and sensitive,and is applicable to the monitoring of epichlorohydrin in drinking water.
