Thunderstorm asthma and related mechanism:a review of recent studies
Thunderstorm asthma is a phenomenon of acute attack or aggravation of bronchial asthma that occurs during or immediately after thunderstorm weather. It is especially more common in the pollen seasons. There are large-scale outbreaks of asthma in local areas with varying symptoms in severity, and severe cases can be life-threatening.In recent years, with climate change and an increase in thunderstorm weather, the frequency and severity of thunderstorm asthma are also gradually increasing, which has attracted extensive attention from the medical and environmental science communities at home and abroad. This article systematically evaluated and analyzed the research status, occurrence mechanism, influencing factors, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment and preventive measures of thunderstorm asthma at home and abroad, and discussed future research directions. It is of great significance for improving public health awareness, optimizing the allocation of medical resources and reducing the burden of disease.
