Serum levels of homocysteine,C-reactive protein and total bilirubin in patients with hypertension and coronary artery disease and their relationships with degrees of carotid artery damage and coronary artery lesion
Objective To investigate the serum levels of homocysteine(Hcy),C-reactive protein(CRP)and total bilirubin(TBIL)in patients with hypertension complicated with coronary artery disease, and their relationships with the degree of carotid artery damage and coronary artery lesion. Methods One hundred patients with coronary artery disease and hypertension who were treated in Nanjing Gaochun People's Hospital from January 2020 to December 2021 were taken as observation group, and 100 coronary artery disease patients without hypertension were collected as control group. The results of contrast-enhanced ultrasound and serum levels of Hcy,CRP and TBIL were compared between the 2 groups. The relationships between serum Hcy,CRP and TBIL levels and the degrees of carotid artery damage and coronary artery lesion were analyzed. Results The proportions of patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS),multi-vessel lesions, severe stenosis and Grous score≥2 in the observation group were 68.00% ,58.00% ,62.00% and 55.00% ,respectively, which were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The serum levels of Hcy and CRP in the observation group were(20.14±5.67)μmol/L and(7.22±1.42)mg/L,respectively,which were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The TBIL level was(9.02±1.42)μmol/L,which was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).In the observation group, the serum Hcy and CRP of ACS patients were(20.96±4.81)μmol/L and(7.47±1.42)mg/L,respectively,which were significantly higher than those of stable angina pectoris patients(P<0.05),while TBIL of ACS patients was(8.22±1.31)μmol/L,which was significantly lower than that of stable angina pectoris patients(P<0.05).In the observation group, the patients with severe stenosis had significantly higher serum levels of Hcy and CRP([20.93±4.43]μmol/L,[7.53±1.39]mg/L)and significantly lower TBIL level([8.22±1.24]μmol/L)than patients with mild and moderate stenosis(P<0.05).The patients with Grous score≥2 had significantly higher level of Hcy and CRP([21.01±4.43]μmol/L and[7.95±1.30]mg/L)and significantly lower TBIL level([8.35±1.32]μmol/L)than those with Grous score<2(P<0.05).In the observation group, serum Hcy and CRP were positively correlated with Gensini score and Grous score(P<0.05),and TBIL was negatively correlated with Gensini score and Grous score(P<0.05).Conclusion Serum Hcy and CRP levels are increased in patients with hypertension combined with coronary artery disease, while TBIL is decreased. The levels of Hcy,CRP and TBIL are related to the degrees of carotid artery damage and the severity of coronary artery lesions.
