Traditional Chinese medicine constitution of the patients from five South Pacific countries during"Harmonious Mission-2023"
Objective To explore the constitution of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in patients from five South Pacific countries during"Harmonious Mission-2023",and to provide a reference for further medical assistance.Methods The questionnaire was formulated according to"TCM constitution survey scale".Four hundred questionnaires were randomly distributed to the patients who visited the TCM department of the main platform of Ark Peace Hospital in five countries.SPSS statistical software was used to study and classify the TCM constitution of the subjects.Results A total of 355 valid questionnaires were screened.None had normal constitution or single constitution.There were 106 cases of Qi-deficiency,73 cases of Yang-deficiency,163 cases of Yin-deficiency,195 cases of dampness-heat,140 cases of blood-stasis and 155 cases of Qi-stagnation.There were 30 cases with special constitution.There was no statistical difference in TCM constitution between subjects with different genders or from different islands.There were significant differences in the distribution of TCM constitution among all age groups(P<0.05).Conclusion The patients who were treated in the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the Ark Peace Hospital from five countries of the South Pacific during"Harmonious Mission-2023"have heavy constitutional bias.The excessiveness constitution accounts for a large proportion.The excessiveness constitution is mainly characterized by phlegm-dampness and damp-heat in these patients,while the deficiency constitution is mainly characterized by Yin-deficiency and Qi-deficiency.
