Overview of Pipe Network Design for Airborne Fire Extinguishing Systems
As a vital part of the aircraft fire protection system, the pipeline network of the onboard fire ex-tinguishing system has become a focal point in the field of aircraft fire engineering. This is due to its chal-lenging working conditions, the need for high performance to quickly extinguish fires, and the requirement for minimal weight. In order to design an efficient pipeline network for airborne fire extinguishing systems, this article conducts a comprehensive analysis of the structure, mechanism, and dynamics of the pipeline network. It categorizes and summarizes the design elements and optimization methods that impact the transport and release of fire extinguishing agents. The article also highlights the key considerations for op-timizing the design of the pipeline network. It emphasizes the use of computational fluid dynamics(CFD)in combination with experiments,as this is currently the predominant design approach that combines relia-bility and cost-effectiveness.This research provides valuable insights and guidance for future design trends and in-depth exploration of airborne fire extinguishing system pipeline networks.
