A New Modeling Method of Ground Clutter with Space Grid Structure
The fourth-generation air-to-air missiles(AAM)with pulse doppler(PD)active radar seek-er have all-day and all-airspace combat capabilities, and have strong low altitude attack capabilities. When the AAM attack the target which is below the AAM,the ground Doppler clutter can affect the detec-tion of real targets by the radar seeker.A new method for establishing the ground clutter model based on spatial grid partitioning is proposed in this paper.Partition the grid around the main lobe of the antenna in three-dimensional space with the antenna beam pointing as the center, and calculate the grid area projec-ted onto the ground, the the echo signal model based on radar equations is established. The factors which decided the energy of ground clutter are obtained from this modeling method, including the height of the missile, grazing angle of the seeker beam, the reflectance of the ground. The correctness is finally verified through computer simulation. This method can reduce simulation time while ensuring the same clutter morphology.
