Optimal Design of Transfer Flight Product based on Passenger Behavior Choice
In order to activate passenger travel demand and transfer market potential,a two-stage plan-ning model of transfer flight product was built. In the first stage,a polynomial Logit model was adopted to create an itinerary selection model on the basis of the passengers'travel choice behavior by considering their perception of ticket price, flight frequency, flight time, and transfer time to predict the demand of i-tineraries.In the second stage, with the objective of maximizing airline profits and air accessibility of re-gional cities,a transfer flight product optimization design model was constructed based on the itinerary se-lection model. The proposed model is validated using some direct flight routes of China Express Airlines as an example. The results show that compared to direct flight routes the model yields transfer flight prod-uct design solution that results in a significant improvement in airline profits and air accessibility of re-gional cities, and increases the number of passengers traveling.Through parameter sensitivity analysis, the impact of flight capacity on the optimization results of the model is revealed.
