Study on the ethical sensitivity status and influencing factors of neurosurgical nurses
Objective To investigate the current situation of the ethical sensitivity of neurosurgery nurses, analyze its influencing fac-tors,and provide a basis for managers to formulate targeted measures to improve the ethical sensitivity level of nurses. Methods The general information questionnaire,Moral Sensitivity Questionnaire Revised Chinese Version(MSQ-R-CV),the Hospital Ethical Climate Survey(HECS),and the Jefferson Scale of Empathy Health Professionals(JSE-HP)were used to survey 197 nurses in three ClassⅢGrade A gen-eral hospitals in Changsha city. Results MSQ-R-CV was(35.20±7.57),HECS was(91.50±13.95)and JSE-HP was(75.78±12.04).MSQ-R-CV was positively correlated with HECS and JSE-HP(r1 =0.597,r2 =0.679,P<0.01).Multiple regression analysis showed that nursing age, work intensity, whether they had participated in neurosurgery related ethics education, hospital ethical atmosphere and empathy were the main factors affecting the ethical sensitivity of neurosurgery nurses(P<0.05).Conclusion The ethical sensitivity of neurosurgical nurses is at the middle level.Nurses with short nursing experience, high work intensity,no experionce in ethical education, poor ethical atmos-phere in hospitals, and weak empathy have lower ethical sensitivity.Managers should pay attention to and develop targeted interventions to im-prove their ethical sensitivity.
