Effect of peer support on psychological status and quality of life of middle-aged patients with heart failure
Objective To explore the effect of peer support intervention on middle-aged patients with heart failure.Methods Totally,200 middle-aged patients with heart failure from May 2019 to May 2022 were selected as the study subjects,and were divided into support group(n=100)and conventional group(n=100)according to the random number table method.The conventional group received routine nursing intervention,while the support group received intervention in conjunction with peer support intervention method on the basis of the conventional group.The cardiac function,somatization symptoms,post traumatic growth,quality of life,and incidence of adverse events were compared between two groups.Results The left ventricular ejection fraction of the support group was higher than that of the conventional group,and the 6-Minute Walk Test was longer than that of the conventional group.The left ventricular end diastolic diameter and N-terminal pro B type natriuretic peptid were lower than those of the conventional group(P<0.01).The scores of somatization symptoms in both groups decreased,and the support group was lower than the conventional group(P<0.01).The scores of post-traumatic growth and quality of life in all dimensions in both groups increased,and the support group was higher than the conventional group(P<0.01).The incidence of adverse e-vents in support group was lower than that in conventional group(P<0.05).Conclusion For middle-aged patients with heart failure,peer support intervention can improve various cardiac functions,promote post-traumatic growth,reduce the incidence of somatization symptoms and adverse events,and improve the quality of life.
