A study of the effectiveness of symptom management strategies on patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty
Objective To explore the application effect of symptom management strategies in patients with total knee arthroplasty. Methods A total of 92 patients who underwent initial unilateral total knee arthroplasty were selected for the study and divided into control group and intervention group. The control group implemented conventional care and the intervention group implemented symptom management strategies. The differences in swelling and pain degree, knee function and quality of life 3 months after surgery were compared between the two groups at different time points after surgery. Results The Repeated-measures ANOVA showed that the degree of swelling and pain and knee function of the two groups patients at different postoperative time points were statistically different in terms of time,between-groups and inter-action effects(P<0.01 or P<0.05).And the quality of life in the intervention group was higher than that of the control group at three months postoperatively(P<0.01).Conclusion The implementation of symptom management strategies can help to reduce the degree of swelling and pain in patients with total knee arthroplasty, promote the recovery of knee function and improve the quality of life,so that it can be promoted and applied.
