Investigation of demand of caregivers of the elderly with hip fractures
Objective To understand the demand of caregivers of the elderly with hip fracture and analysize its influencing factors.Methods A total of 417 caregivers of the elderly with hip fracture were selected as subject by a convenience sampling method in four types of institutions:hospitals,nursing institutions,rehabilitation facilities,and home services.A self-designed questionnaire on demand of caregivers of elderly with hip fracture was used for the survey.Results The total score of demand of caregivers was(303.61±41.15),and the scores of the dimensions of disease-related knowledge,basic caring,perioperative careing,and continuing caring were(55.91±8.79),(80.40±11.71),(109.55±15.42),and(57.76±8.63),respectively.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that training experience and self-assessment of personal nursing competency level were the main influencing factors of care capacity needs of caregivers of elderly with hip fracture.Conclusion The demand for capacity improvement of caregivers of elderly with hip fracture is strong,and the training content of should be designed to meet the demand for competence improvement of caregivers.
