Effect of marital self-disclosure intervention in cancer patients:a systematic review
Objective To systematically evaluate the effect of marital self-disclosure intervention in cancer patients. Methods Data-bases including Cochrane Library PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,CBM,CNKI,Wanfang and VIP were retrieved to recruit randomized con-trolled trials and quasi-experimental studies from the establishment of the database to July 28,2023.Meta-analysis was performed by RevMan 5.4 software. Results A total of 11 studies involving 700 patients were finally included.Meta-analysis results showed that marital self-disclo-sure intervention could reduce the anxiety[SMD=-1.14,95%CI(-2.10,-0.18),P=0.020]and depression[SMD=-0.81,95%CI(-1.50,-0.13),P=0.020]of cancer patients, improve patients'quality of life[SMD=0.73,95%CI(0.48,0.97),P<0.001]and levels of self-disclo-sure[MD=5.36,95%CI(3.84,6.88),P<0.001],decrease patients'fear of cancer recurrence[MD=-2.47,95%CI(-3.57,-1.37),P<0.001],but the effect on improving intimate relationships is not significant[SMD=0.25,95%CI(-0.31,0.82),P=0.380].Conclusion Marital self-disclosure intervention can effectively enhance the quality of life and level of self-disclosure of cancer patients, reduce patients'fear of cancer recurrence, but further research is needed to improve anxiety, depression, and intimate relationships.
