The mediating effect of nurses' management care perception on head nurses' leadership and career status
Objective To explore the mediating effect of nurses'perceived management care on the head nurses'leadership and career status.Methods A total of 560 nurses from 2 Grade A hospitals in Xianyang were investigated by general information questionnaire,Head Nurse Leadership Questionnaire,Caring Assessment Tool-administration and Career Status Assessment Scale.Results The total score of head nurse leadership was(169.37±9.68).The total score of nurses'perception management care was(95.34±8.45),and the total score of career status was(54.46±9.48).There was a pairwise positively correlated between head nurses'leadership,perceived management care and career status among nurses(r1=0.633,r2=0.586,r3=0.721,P<0.01).Perceived management care had a mediating effect between head nurses'leadership and ca-reer status,with an effect value of 0.195,accounting for 22.1%of the total effect.Conclusion The career status of nurses is in the lower middle level,and perceived management care plays a partial mediating effect between the head nurses'leadership and the career status.Managers can improve the career status of nurses by enhancing the head nurses'leadership and increasing the perceived management care of nurses.
