The application of Williams Life Skills Training on alcohol-dependent patients
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of Williams Life Skills Training on anxiety,depression and coping style patients with al-cohol dependence.Methods A total of 72 alcohol-dependent patients were randomly divided into observation group(n=37)and control group(n=35)by convenience sampling from April 2020 to April 2021 in the Internet Addiction Department of Alcohol Addiction in a mental health center in Changsha.The control group was given alcohol dependence health education course.The observation group received Williams Life Skills Training in addition to a health education course.The improvement of anxiety,depression and coping style indexes were compared between the two groups before intervention and 3 months after intervention.Results After 3 months intervention,the scores of anxiety,de-pression and negative coping style in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,while the score of positive coping style was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The Williams Life Skills Training can effectively relieve anxiety and depres-sion in alcohol-dependent patients,increase their positive coping styles,and reduce their negative coping styles.
