The Chinese localization with reliability and validity testing of nurse's coghitive questionnaire on sound use and auditory needs of preterm infants in NICU
Objective To tested the reliability and validity of a questionnaire on nurses'perceptions of sound use and auditory needs of preterm infants in neonatal intensive care unit(NICU).Methods Authorization was obtained from the questionnaire development team by an E-mail contact,and a standard questionnaire translation model was followed to form the Chinese version of the questionnaire.A total of 265 NICU nurses from 6 provincial hospitals in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were conveniently sampled to examine the reliability and validity of the questionnaire.Results The Chinese version of the questionnaire consisted of 15 items.The Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.830,the folded half reliability was 0.627,and the retest reliability was 0.827.The content validity index(I-CVI)of the Chinese version of the questionnaire ranged from 0.875 to 1.000 for each entry,and the content validity index(S-CVI/UA)was 0.950 for all.The exploratory factor analysis was 0.835,and the cumulative variance contribution was 62.13%.Conclusion The Chinese version of the questionnaire has good reliability and validity,and can be used to evaluate the cogntive degree of nurses'awareness of voice use and hearing needs of premature infants in the NICU in China.
