The experience and need of patient caregivers during ICU transitional period:a qualitative Meta synthesis research
Objective To systematically evaluate the qualitative research on patient caregivers'experience and need during ICU transi-tions,to develop effective intervention strategies to improve the quality and service experience of ICU transition care.Methods Databases such as The Cochrane Library,CINAHL,PubMed,EMbase,Web of Science,CMB,CNKI,Wanfang and VIP were searched for articles on qualitative research regarding patient caregivers'experience and need for ICU transitional care.The search period was from database establish-ment to May 31,2023.After the literature quality evaluation,Meta-integration was applied to compare,analyze,summarize,interpret,and syn-thesize the study results using pooled integration methods.Results A total of 10 literatures,and 34 results were extracted and summarized in-to 10 new categories,which were then synthesized 3 integration results:negative emotional experiences,supportive care needs,positive emo-tional experiences.Conclusion Patient caregivers play an important role in the ICU transition and directly influence patient prognosis.Healthcare professionals need to pay attention to the negative psychological feelings of the caregivers,meet the needs of the caregivers in vari-ous aspects,and encourage the positive psychological growth of the caregivers.
