To explore the effect of paeoniflorin on the preservation of pig semen and sperm quality at room temperature,paeoniflorin was added to Modena diluent with different concentrations(0,20,40,80 and 160 μM),and sperm total motility,motility,straightline velocity and curvilinear velocity were measured by computer assisted sperm analysis system within 7 days.The results showed that 80 μM paeoniflorin was significantly better than other groups in various parameters of pig sperm(P<0.05).In conclusion,the addition of 80 μM paeoniflorin in Modena diluent could significantly improve the storage effect of pig semen at room temperature,and the test results would provide data reference for the research and development of semen storage technology in pig artificial insemination.
