Mechanical Behavior Analysis and Numerical Simulation on Self-centering Buckling-restrained Brace with Disc Springs and Steel Strands
This study introduced the configuration and mechanical behavior of a novel self-centering buckling-restrained brace with disc springs and steel strands(DS-SCB).A series of numerical model of DS-SCBs were developed to study its hysteretic behavior,self-centering and energy dissipation capabilities based on the finite element software Abaqus. Results showed that the DS-SCBs ex-hibited good hysteretic behaviors, energy dissipation and self-centering capacities. The self-centering capacity of the DS-SCB can be enhanced with the increase of self-centering ratio and stiffness ratio, and its energy dissipation capacity decreased with the increase of reset ratio and stiffness ratio.
