Countermeasures for the Freight Logistics Transformation and Development in National Comprehensive Transportation Hub Cities
This paper uses Suzhou as a case study to explore strategies for comprehensive national transportation hub cities to further enhance urban freight capacity and efficiency, and to achieve freight transformation and upgrading. The study uses multi-source traffic volume observation data to analyze the operation of Suzhou's urban freight network. The results show that the freight density per unit ar-ea in Suzhou is about three times the provincial average, and the city's transportation infrastructure carries over 40%of the transit freight volume. In response to these findings,we propose strategies for Suzhou's freight logistics transformation and development from three aspects:improving the carrying capacity of freight infrastructure, enhancing the competitiveness of hub transportation, and build-ing an efficient freight transportation system.
