Design and Research on Improving the Capacity of Highway Intersections
In recent years,in order to improve the capacity of national and provincial roads,the road grade is gradually improved.After the road grade is improved,the main factor affecting the vehicle capacity is more intersections.At present,the highway industry lacks corresponding specifications and quantitative standards for the design of plane intersections,but the intersections have always been the multiple points of traffic accidents,with serious mixed traffic and slow traffic of vehicles,which greatly reduces the capacity of high-grade roads.Combined with the case of the first-level highway reconstruction and expansion project in Changzhi of National highway 208 line,by analyzing the factors(location and number of conflict points)affecting the plane crossing capacity,three new design con-cepts of integral subgrade divided island method,integral subgrade deflection island method and separated subgrade connection method are adopted to improve the capacity of road intersections.Thus solving the problem of poor capacity of traditional intersection.
