Depression and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder Among College Students During Public Health Emergencies:Moderating Role of Regulatory Emotional Self-efficacy
To explore the moderating effect of regulatory emotional self-efficacy between depression and post-traumatic stress disorder among college students who have experienced public health emergencies, the study investigates 331 college students aged 17 to 24 with the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale, the PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 and the Regulation Emotional Self-efficacy Scale. The analysis results show that college students who have experienced public health emergencies have a post-traumatic stress disorder score of(31.347±10.394)points,a depression scale score of(32.831±10.352)points,and a regulatory emotional self-efficacy score of(60.308±12.305)points.Depression,post-traumatic stress disorder, and regulatory emotional self-efficacy are pairwise correlated.Regulatory emotional self-efficacy plays a moderating role in the impact of depression on post-traumatic stress disorder in college students who have experienced public health emergencies. The lower the regulatory emotional self-efficacy is,the stronger the positive predictive effect of depression level on post-traumatic stress disorder in college students is.Based on this, mental health teachers can cultivate the emotional management ability of college students through lectures on emotional management and public elective courses.Education administrators need to strengthen communication and exchange with students and establish a database of college students'mental health.Home-school linkage mechanism should be established to accompany the healthy growth of students together.
