Carbide material has excellent physical and mechanical properties, and chemical stability. Its characteristics can be changed by changing the composition and particle size to meet the requirement of a wider range of tool performance requirements. The main characteristics of hard alloy steel materials can be adjusted according to different processing methods. The study analyzes the effects of cobalt content and tungsten carbide grain size on the physical and mechanical properties of hard alloy steel, and corrosion resistance and application range of a kind of hard alloy steel containing rare earth elements. The results show that adding some rare earth elements to cemented carbide powder can improve the oxidation resistance of the material, control the uneven growth of WC grains, and refine the grains.
