Vocational ability is the core content of vocational education personnel training.The evaluation of vocational ability is the key to promote the high-quality development of vocational education under the value-added concept.Based on the principle of scientificity,comprehensiveness and operability,the study constructs the index system of vocational ability evaluation of students in higher vocational colleges covering basic vocational ability and key vocational ability with questionnaire survey and field visit.The results show that the professional skills of students in higher vocational colleges show positive additional effects.The overall level of vocational ability of male students is slightly higher than that of female students,but the increment effect of vocational ability of female students is higher than that of male students.The increment effect of vocational ability of students majoring in machinery,materials and logistics is significant,and the increment effect size of vocational high school students is higher.Based on this,higher vocational colleges should change their ideas and take the individual development of students as the long-term development goal.It is necessary to pay attention to data empowerment,build a technical support platform for student evaluation,and further promote the improvement of talent training quality.
