The construction of ideological and political counselors is an important guarantee for ideological and political education in colleges and universities.The improvement of the competence of ideological and political counselors is of great significance for the reform,innovation and development of ideological and political education in colleges and universities.The study establishes the competency evaluation indexes of ideological and political counselors in colleges and universities from 4 dimensions:basic knowledge of ideological and political work,ability of ideological and political work,career planning and personality characteristics;and defines the weight of each second-level index by Analytic Hierarchy Process,so as to improve the competency level of ideological and political counselors in colleges and universities through analysis.The results show that the basic knowledge and the ability of ideological and political work are the key influencing factors of the competence of the ideological and political counselors in colleges and universities.In the selection and recruitment of ideological and political counselors,it is necessary to focus on their career planning and personality characteristics.
