Study on Mechanical Properties of Rock Samples Containing Circular Fillings Under Uniaxial Compression
In order to study the influence of circular fillings(including the strength and size of fill)on rock mechanical properties and failure mode, the study establishes a numerical model under the consideration of the interface strength between fillings and matrix with discrete element software PFC2D;and analyzes and verifies the influence of the strength and size of fill on peak strength, elastic modulus and failure mode by laboratory tests. In order to calibrate the correct microscopic parameters, the study establishes the rock samples containing fillings of different sizes and strengths, and conducts numerical simulation. The results show that the strength and size of the fillings have important effects on the strength, deformation and failure mode of the rock. When the strength of the fillings is close to the strength of the matrix, the mechanical properties of the rock sample can be better improved. The final failure modes of samples under different filling conditions can be divided into shear failure, tensile and shear mixed failure, through filling failure and around filling failure. The research results have certain practical significance for evaluating the stability of rock engineering and guiding the field grouting reinforcement.
