Control and Exploitation:Japan's Policy Towards the Oroqen during the Period of Ocupation in Northeast China
After the establishment of the Puppet Manchukuo, the Japanese and puppet regime proposed various policies towards the ethnic minorities in Northeast China in order to better control the ethnic minorities. These policies once included the wooing and subsidizing of ethnic minority leaders such as the Oroqen,eco-nomic policies for the Oroqen, cultural enslavement and the establishment of"mountain forest teams",etc. These policies have seriously affected the normal survival of the Oroqen people;destroyed the economic struc-ture of the Oroqen people;and forced changes in the cultural continuation of the Oroqen people. As a result, some people of insight set off a wave of resistance against the Japanese invaders, spontaneously organized Re-sisting Japan activities or joined the anti-alliance team guided by the CCP.These resistances achieved certain results and made certain contributions to the survival of the Oroqen people.
