Ruminant Nutrition is an important course for students majoring animal science in agricultural universities.It expands the content of Animal Nutrition in the field of ruminants,and has an important guiding role in understanding the principles of ruminant nutrition and the development of animal husbandry.Integrating ideological and political education with professional courses is one of the key measures to implement the fundamental task of cultivating morality and talent.This paper systematically summarized some problems in the ideological and political education of Ruminant Nutrition including over-emphasizing the theoretical knowledge but neglecting the cultivation of students'humanistic literacy,having a monotonic ideological and political method,lacking effective coordination between the ideological and political education and course contents,and the insufficient role of teachers in humanistic guidance.Based on the content of the course Ruminant Nutrition,this paper explored and practiced the integration of ideological and political elements into Ruminant Nutrition from the perspectives of enhancing teachers'theoretical confidence,life values and ideals,and patriotism.Meanwhile,this paper focused on promoting the deep integration of professional courses and ideological and political education,in order to effectively help students majoring animal science shape the correct outlook on life and values,and enhance students'sense of professional responsibility and mission.
