Climatic characteristics of the cold wave happened in the winter half year in Heilongjiang province
The temporal and spacial characteristics of the cold wave occurred in winter half year was studied in detail with the data of daily mean temperature and daily minimum temperature of 62 observation stations from 1 January 1961 to 28 February 2010 which is edited by Information Center of Heilongjiang Province. The results show that the frequency of cold wave decreases within past half century and has apparent inter-annual and interdecadal variation, besides that, the cold waves in different terrain are significantly different. All of the data from 62 observation stations is checked with the Mann-Kendall method and no mutation is found. Using the GIS to analyze the frequency of cold wave happened in different terrain, it found that cold waves occurred in mountain areas is more than in plain areas.
