Weather Characteristics of a Squall Line Process and Experience of Meteorological Service for Urban Drainage and Waterlogging Prevention
Based on the conventional observation data of ground and high altitude, combined with the unconven-tional observation data such as radar and automatic station, the thunderstorm gale, ultra short time heavy rainfall and local small hail caused by a squall line in the main urban area of Harbin on June 28,2020 are comprehen-sively analyzed. The results show that:the squall line process occurred under the triggering of northwest airflow, surface temperature front area and mesoscale convergence line behind the high trough. The strong convective weather, such as squall line and hail, occurred mainly in 15~20 minutes, and the larger value of minute rainfall generally lasted for 10~20 minutes. The interval between the maximum rainfall values of different administrative regions in Harbin was 10~15 minutes. At the same time,it shows the characteristics of abrupt increase of air pressure, sudden drop of temperature and increase of wind speed. The radar mosaic also shows obvious bow echo characteristics of squall line.Through the analysis of the causes of the weather process and the evolution of radar echo, the early warning focus and early warning ability of the squall line process are discussed, which can im-prove the ability and level of professional meteorological services.
