Study on the Use of New-Form Materials in Higher Vocational College English Teaching—An Exploration Based on Extended Technology Acceptance Model from Students'Perspective
This study collected questionnaire data from students in higher vocational colleges in Jiangsu Province,and empirically analyzed the basic situation of students'use of public English new-form materials and their influencing factors u-sing descriptive statistics and structural equation modelling.The results show that:(1)higher vocational college students generally believe that English new-form materials are easy to use and are useful to English learning,and they have relatively high intention to use the materials,but they do not make enough use of the intelligent,interactive,and personalized func-tions of the materials;(2)perceived ease of use,perceived usefulness,and English learning motivation significantly affect students'behavioral intention to use new-form materials,perceived ease of use significantly affects perceived usefulness,and teacher support has a significant positive effect on perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness.Based on the find-ings,it is recommended that students take the initiative to enhance their intrinsic motivation for English learning;teachers enhance their understanding and abilities of using textbooks in a student-centred manner;and textbook developers enhance the digital-intelligent features of the new-form materials and promote the co-development of English curriculum design and textbook construction.
