Construction and Implementation of Continuity of Care Program for Cervical Cancer Patients Based on Health Em-powerment Theory
Objective:To explore the effect of constructing and evaluating the clinical implementation of a continuity of care program based on the theory of health empowerment for patients with cervical cancer, and to provide a basis for clinical care.Methods:78 cases of cervical cancer admitted to the hospital from January 2021 to June 2022 were selected as the study subjects, and they were divided into the control group and the study group using the random number table method, with 39 cases in each group.Patients in the control group received routine out-of-hospital follow-up,and patients in the study group implemented conti-nuity of care based on the theory of health empowerment. The level of health empowerment(Cancer Empowerment Questionnaire Chinese version[CEQ]score)and cancer-caused fatigue(Piper Fatigue Scale Revised[PFS-R]score)were compared between the two groups. Results:After the intervention, patients in the study group had higher scores on all dimensions of the CEQ question-naire than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(t=6.622,7.152,6.886,6.849,P<0.05).After the intervention, patients in the study group had lower scores on all dimensions of the PFS-R scale than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(t=-5.881,-5.923,-5.706,-5.475,P<0.05).Conclusion:Constructing a continuity of care program for cervical cancer patients based on health empowerment theory and applying it in clinical practice can improve the level of health empowerment and reduce cancer-caused fatigue in cervical cancer patients.
