Study on the Effect of Pharmacists'Participation in the Comprehensive Therapeutic Management of Perioperative Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients Under the Multidisciplinary Collaborative Diagnosis and Treatment Model
Objective:To investigate the effectiveness of pharmacists'participation in the comprehensive therapeutic manage-ment of perioperative type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)patients in a multidisciplinary collaborative treatment(MDT)model.Methods:180 cases of perioperative T2DM patients admitted to the departments of Urology,Orthopedic Surgery,General Surgery,Cardiology,Oncology Surgery and Gynecology of the hospital from January to December 2021 were selected as the study subjects, and were divided into the control group and the intervention group according to the method of random number table, with 90 cases in each group(15 cases in each department). The control group received traditional endocrinology consultation, and the intervention group received the MDT model with the participation of clinical pharmacists.Glucose control, perioperative adverse events, and pa-tient hospitalization time and cost were compared between the two groups. Results:At the time of discharge, the levels of FPG,2 hPG,and HbA1c in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically signifi-cant(t=5.841,6.897,4.656,P<0.05).The FPG attainment rate and 2 hPG attainment rate of the intervention group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(χ2=8.893,7.448,P<0.05).The incidence of ad-verse events such as hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia, and postoperative infection in the intervention group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=28.929,7.980,6.667,P<0.05).The number of hospitalization days and hospitalization costs in the intervention group were better than those in the control group, and the differences were statisti-cally significant(t=1.973,7.892,P<0.05).Conclusion:The pharmacist-involved MDT model for glycemic management of perioperative T2DM patients has been shown to be effective, with high safety, efficacy, and economic effect.
