Nursing Practices Based on the Roy Adaptation Model in Parkinson's Patients
Objective:To explore the value of nursing interventions based on the Roy Adaptation Model in Parkinson's pa-tients.Methods:58 cases of Parkinson's patients admitted to the hospital from June 2015 to March 2020 were selected and divided into observation group and control group according to the random number table method, with 29 cases in each group. The control group implemented conventional nursing care, and the observation group adopted nursing measures based on the Roy adap-tation model. The severity of Parkinson's symptoms, cognitive function, sleep quality, and quality of life were compared between the two groups of patients before and after the intervention. Results:Before the intervention, there was no statistically signifi-cant difference in the comparison of Parkinson's Rating Scale(UPDRS),cognitive function, sleep quality, and quality of life scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After the intervention, the mental, behavioral and confabulation(7.04±1.94)points,activi-ties of daily living(27.36±3.81)points,motor examination(30.29±4.87)points and quality of life scores(69.14±6.58)points in the UPDRS of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(t= 2.190,3.381,4.598,P<0.05).After the intervention, the Parkinson's patients'quality of life questionnaire(PDQ-39)scores in the observation group were lower than those of the control group in physical activity(12.13±1.54)points,daily living behavior(11.13±1.06)points,mental health(9.81±1.13)points,humiliation(5.13±1.22)points,social support(4.26±0.53)points,cognition(6.10±1.02)points,communication(4.13±0.82)points,and physical discomfort(4.06±0.73)points,and the difference was statistical-ly significant(t=15.014,13.807,10.739,9.235,18.010,13.102,8.004,8.637,P<0.05).Conclusion:Nursing measures based on the Roy Adaptation Model can effectively alleviate clinical symptoms, improve cognitive function, and enhance the quality of life and sleep quality of Parkinson's patients.
