Tick-borne Pathogens and Public Health and Safety Risks
As an important reservoir of pathogens,ticks are capable of transmitting a great variety of pathogens,including viruses,bacteria,parasites,rickettsiae,spirochetes,chlamydiae,protozoa,etc.Diseases caused by these pathogens are mostly zoonotic,which are a serious threat to the safety of human life.As an important insect vector,ticks have reached nearly 900 species.On the basis of summarizing the relevant literature on ticks and tick-borne diseases at home and abroad,the classification and hazards of ticks and tick-borne diseases are described.
