Preventive Effect of DisCoVisc Viscoelastic Aagent on Postoperative Corneal Edema in Cataract Patients
Objective:To investigate the effectiveness of DisCoVisc viscoelastic agent in preventing postoperative corneal ede-ma in cataract patients.Methods:102 cases of cataract patients admitted to the hospital from March 2021 to March 2022 were se-lected as the study subjects, and were divided into the conventional group(51 cases)and the experimental group(51 cases)by ran-dom number table method. The conventional group received sodium hyaluronate treatment, and the experimental group received DisCoVisc viscoelastic treatment.Corneal endothelial cells, clinical efficacy, corneal edema, and adverse reactions before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, corneal endothelial cells were elevated in both groups, and the difference was statistically significant(t=3.855,P<0.05).Compared with the conventional group, the clinical efficacy of the experimental group was higher, and the difference was statistically significant(Z=5.254,P<0.05).Compared with 1 d postoperatively, corneal edema was reduced in both groups at 28 d postoperatively, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=5.258,P<0.05).The occurrence of adverse reactions in the experimental group was lower than that in the conventional group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.883,P<0.05).Conclusion:DisCoVisc viscoelastic agent has proven efficacy in preventing postoperative corneal edema in cataract patients by improving corneal endothelial cells and corneal edema, and reducing the incidence of adverse effects.
