Analysis of Optimistic Tendencies and Comprehension Social Support in Patients with Acute Exacerbations of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Objective:To investigate the correlation between optimistic tendency and comprehending social support in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD)and to analyze the factors influencing patients'optimistic tendency.Methods:40 cases of AECOPD patients admitted to the hospital from January 2020 to January 2021 were selected as study subjects. The baseline data were investigated at the time of admission, and the optimistic tendency of the patients was assessed by the Life Orientation Test-Revised(LOT-R)scale 1 d before discharge.During the same period, the Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS)was used to determine the patients'perceived social support level. The correlation between the optimistic tendency of AECOPD patients and the level of perceived social support and the influencing factors of optimistic tendency of AECOPD patients were analyzed. Results:The mean LOT-R score of 40 AECOPD patients was(16.10±2.55)points and PSSS score was(50.88±10.99)points.The results showed that the LOT-R scores of AECOPD patients were positively correlated with the PSSS re-family dimension, friend dimension, other dimensions, and total scores(r=0.447,0.453,0.434,0.452;P<0.05).The LOT-R scores of patients with≥2 types of comorbidities and patients with junior high school or less education were lower than those of patients with≤1 type of comorbidity and patients with high school or more education, and the differences were statistically significant(t=3.741,4.005;P<0.05).The type of comorbidity, education level, and comprehending social support were influential factors in the optimistic tendency of AECOPD patients. Conclusion:Optimistic tendency of AECOPD patients is closely related to perceived social support and may be influenced by the type of comorbidity, education level and perceived social support level.
