Effect of Phenomenological Descriptive Education Combined with Positive Motivation on Fear of Disease Progression and Subjective Well-being in Prostate Cancer Patients
Objective:To investigate the effect of phenomenal descriptive education combined with positive motivation on fear of disease progression and subjective well-being in prostate cancer patients, and to provide a basis for clinical care.Methods:130 cases of prostate cancer patients admitted to the hospital from June 2020 to June 2022 were selected as the study subjects, and they were divided into the control group and the observation group using the random number table method, with 65 cases in each group. The control group used conventional nursing interventions, and the observation group implemented phenomenal descriptive education combined with positive incentives on the basis of conventional nursing interventions.Fear of disease progression[Fear of Disease Progression Simplified Scale(FoP-Q-SF)score],subjective well-being[Index of Well-Being Scale(IWB)score],and quality of life[Prostate Cancer Specific Supplemental Scale(EORTC QLQ-PR25)score]were compared between the two groups. Results:After the intervention, the physical health and social family dimension scores and total scores in the FoP-Q-SF scale of the patients in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(t=17.042,17.214,7.241;P<0.05).After the intervention, the emotional index and life satisfaction dimension scores and total scores in the IWB scale of the patients in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(t=4.751,3.732,4.879;P<0.05).After the intervention, the scores of urinary tract symptoms, intestinal symptoms, and treatment-related symptoms in the EORTC QLQ-PR25 scale of the patients in the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the scores of sexual life status were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(t=8.480,14.544,13.532,5.565;P<0.05).Conclusion:Phenomenal descriptive education combined with positive motivational interventions for prostate cancer patients can significantly reduce patients'fear of disease progression, increase their subjective well-being,and improve their quality of life.
