Effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine Integrated Nursing Intervention Based on Lowering Core Body Temperature in Pediatric Exogenous Fever
Objective:To observe the effect of traditional Chinese medicine integrated care based on lowering core body temperature in children with exogenous fever.Methods:102 children with febrile illnesses admitted to the hospital from May 2017 to June 2020 were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group using the random number table method, with 51 patients in each group. The control group used TCM conventional nursing care, and the observation group used TCM comprehensive nursing intervention based on reducing core body temperature. The temperature changes, onset time of fever reduction, duration of illness, healing time and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups of children. Results:After treatment, the anal and axillary temperature levels of the children in the observation group were lower compared with those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(t=2.413,4.088;P<0.05).The onset time of fever reduction, duration of illness, and time to cure and reach the standard were lower in the children in the observation group compared with the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(t=4.676,14.677,3.631;P<0.05).The level of clinical efficacy of children in the observation group was higher compared to the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(Z= 3.289,P<0.05).Conclusion:In children with exogenous fever, the implementation of Chinese medicine integrated nursing intervention based on lowering core body temperature, which is guided by the results of anal temperature measurement, combined with the water of Qingtian River, acupoint plasters, and traditional Chinese medicine fumigation, resulteing in a faster decline in the child's body temperature, shorter time to reduce fever, shorter duration of illness, and better clinical efficacy.
