Expression of Serum IL-6,PCT,SAA and CRP in Elderly Patients with Bacterial Pneumonia and Their Value in Disease Assessment
Objective:To investigate the differences in the expression of interleukin-6(IL-6),procalcitonin(PCT),serum amyloid protein(SAA)and C-reactive protein(CRP)in bacterial pneumonia, and to analyze their value in the evaluation of the disease.Methods:300 elderly patients with pneumonia treated in the hospital from April 2020 to March 2023 were retrospectively collected as research group, and they were divided into 130 cases in bacterial pneumonia group and 170 cases in non-bacterial pneumonia group according to different categories.During the same period,100 healthy elderly subjects were collected as the control group. The expression differences of IL-6,PCT,SAA and CRP among all groups were compared. The diagnostic value of IL-6,PCT,SAA and CRP was analyzed by receiver operating curve(ROC),and the relationship between CURB-65 score, and each index was analyzed by Pearson linear analysis. Results:Serum levels of IL-6,PCT,SAA and CRP were significantly increased in elderly patients with bacterial pneumonia, with statistically significant difference(F=23.766,25.349,25.344,29.207;P<0.05).The areas under the curve of IL-6,PCT,SAA and CRP in the diagnosis of bacterial pneumonia were 0.801,0.810,0.752 and 0.601,respectively.The area under the curve of the four combined tests was 0.886,and the sensitivity and specificity were 90.0%and 82.2%,respectively,which had high diagnostic value. The serum levels of IL-6,PCT,SAA and CRP increased gradually with the exacerbation of the disease. The levels of high-risk group were significantly higher than those in middle-risk group and low-risk group, with statistically significant difference(F=19.089,19.313,15.276,13.770;P<0.05).According to Spearman correlation analysis,CURB-65 score was positively correlated with RDW,NLR and CRP(P<0.05).Conclusion:Serum levels of IL-6,PCT,SAA and CRP are significantly increased in elderly patients with bacterial pneumonia, which is related to the severity of patients'disease, and can be used for early diagnosis and evaluation of disease progression.
