Comparison of the Clinical Effects of Arthroscopic Repair of the Subscapular Muscle and Muscle Dissection in the Treatment of Lafosse Type I Subscapular Muscle Injury
Objective:To compare the clinical efficacy of arthroscopic repair and muscle dissection for Lafosse type I subscapular muscle injury. Methods:A total of 50 patients with Lafosse type I subscapular muscle injury who were admitted in the hospital from January 2019 to October 2022 were selected, and divided into the study group(25 cases)and the control group(25 cases)by different treatment methods. The control group received arthroscopic subscapular muscle cleaning surgery, while the study group received arthroscopic subscapular muscle repair surgery. The pain levels[Visual Analog Scale(VAS)],Shoulder joint function[American Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Shoulder Joint Score(ASES),University of California Shoulder Joint Score(UCLA)],shoulder joint range of motion, and complications of the two groups were compared.Results:6 months after surgery, the passive activity and resting VAS scores in both groups decreased. The angles of external rotation, internal rotation and anterior flexion increased. There were no statistically significant difference between the study group and the control group(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the complication rate between the study group(4.00%)and the control group(12.00%)with statistically significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion:Arthroscopic repair of the subscapular muscle and muscle dissection for the treatment of Lafosse type I subscapular muscle injury can reduce patient pain, improve shoulder joint function and range of motion, with high safety.
