Application of Serum PCT,CRP,IL-6,and 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 Detection in the Diagnosis of Infant Pneumonia
Objective:To explore the clinical value of serum procalcitonin(PCT),C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin-6(IL-6),and 25-hydroxyvitamin D3[25-(OH)D3]detection in the diagnosis of infant pneumonia.Methods:58 children with pneumonia admitted to the hospital from 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the observation group, and another 58 healthy infants and young children in the same period were selected as the control group.Blood samples were collected for PCT,CRP,IL-6,and 25-(OH)D3 testing, and the differences in PCT,CRP,IL-6 and 25-(OH)D3 levels between the two groups were compared.According to the severity of the pneumonia in the children, they were divided into mild and severe cases, and the differences in PCT,CRP,IL-6,and 25-(OH)D3 levels between the two groups were compared.ROC were drawn to analyze the clinical value of PCT,CRP,IL-6 and 25-(OH)D3,and combined detection in the diagnosis of infant pneumonia. Results:The levels of PCT,CRP and IL-6 in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, while the level of 25-(OH)D3 was lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(t=35.297,60.378,45.650,38.521;P<0.05).Among 58 children with pneumonia, there were 39 mild cases and 19 severe cases. The levels of PCT,CRP and IL-6 in critically ill patients were higher than those in mild patients, while the levels of 25-(OH)D3 were lower than those in mild patients, with statistically significant differences(t=20.701,20.804,15.107,16.427;P<0.05).According to ROC,the area under the curve for PCT,CRP,IL-6,25-(OH)D3,and combined detection in the diagnosis of infant pneumonia was 0.837,0.825,0.780,0.846 and 0.951,with the highest value of combined detection. Conclusion:Serum PCT,CRP,IL-6,and 25-(OH)D3 have certain value in the diagnosis of infant pneumonia.Combined detection can further improve diagnostic efficiency, reduce the risk of missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis, and evaluate the severity of the condition, which helps guide the development of clinical treatment plans.
