Objective:To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy of whole body vibration training(WBV)on fall risk after stroke. Methods:Meta analysis was performed with RevMan 5.4 software to retrieve published randomized controlled trials on the risk of falls after stroke treated with whole body vibration training. Results:A total of 21 literatures were included in the study, with a total of 1 093 patients.Meta analysis showed that compared with the traditional rehabilitation group, whole body vibration training could improve the timed up-and-go test(TUGT)[WMD=-1.77,95%CI(-2.69,-0.86),P=0.000 1]and the modified Ashworth scale(MAS)[WMD=-0.33,95%CI(-0.41,-0.25),P<0.000 1].There was no effect on the specific activity balance confidence scale(ABC)[WMD=1.14,95%CI(-1.99,4.27),P=0.48].Subgroup analysis showed that WBV could significantly improve the MAS score in subacute phase after stroke[WMD=-0.38,95%CI(-0.47,-0.30),P<0.000 01],but there was no significant improvement in sequelae phase[WMD=-0.08,95%CI(-0.26,0.10),P=0.36].Conclusion:Whole body vibration training has positive effect on TUGT and MAS after stroke, which helps to reduce the risk of falls. There is no significant effect on the ABC.Whole-body vibration training in the subacute phase may better improve spasticity in patients after stroke.
