Study on the Correlation Between Female Infertility and Blood Glucose Level,BMI Index
Objective:To analyze the correlation between female infertility and blood glucose level, and BMI index. Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed on 80 infertility patients admitted to the First People's Hospital of Shangqiu City from January 2021 to February 2023 as the case group and 43 normal women as the control group. The risk factors that could lead to infertility were summarized with univariate analysis and logistic regression analysis.Blood sugar levels and BMI were compared between the two groups.Spearman correlation coefficient was used to verify the correlation between infertility, blood glucose, and BMI index. Results:There were some differences in sex hormone level, blood pressure level, blood glucose level, blood lipid level and insulin function(x2=18.144,5.601,10.396,5.706,5.156,7.527,9.840,14.089,19.684,17.896,5.601,12.564,8.180,20.938,19.483,31.357;P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that BMI≥27.00 kg/m2,fasting blood glucose(FBG)≥ 7 mmol/L,2 h postmeal blood glucose(2 hPG)≥11mmol/L,hemoglobin a1c(HbA1c)≥8%,triglyceride(TG)≥ 2.50 mmol/L,total cholesterol(TC)≥6.45 mmol/L,high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)≤ 1.80 mmol/L,low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)≥2.00 mmol/L,fasting insulin(FINS)≥ 10 mU/L,islet β cell function index(HOMA-β)≤50 and insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR)≥2.25 were risk factors for infertility(OR=6.219,4.281,5.339,5.772,6.033,6.255,6.441,5.258,6.414,5.161,5.241).By Spearman correlation coefficient test, the incidence of infertility was significantly positively correlated with blood glucose level and BMI index(r=0.252,0.251,0.254,0.255;P<0.05).Conclusion:Obesity and its associated abnormal levels of glucose and lipid metabolism,as well as insulin resistance, are the risk factors for infertility. The higher the BMI index and blood sugar levels are,the higher the risk of infertility is.
