Correlation Between the Different Stages of Chronic Kidney Disease and the Levels of Serum ProGRP/
Objective:To investigate the correlation between the different stages of chronic kidney disease(CKD)and the levels of serum gastrin-releasing peptide precursor(ProGRP).Methods:A total of 165 patients with CKD and 50 matched healthy volunteers were included.ProGRP,urea nitrogen, creatinine, uric acid and cystatin C were determined. The stage of CKD was determined according to eGFR.The differences of ProGRP and renal function detection indexes between the control group and the CKD group were compared. The correlation between ProGRP and renal function detection indexes in the CKD group was also analyzed. Results:The level of serum ProGRP in CKD group was higher than that in control group. The level of ProGRP was gradually increased and eGFR was gradually decreased with the increase of CKD stages from the CKD3 stage, with statistically significant difference(P<0.001).In CKD group,ProGRP was positively correlated with urea nitrogen, creatinine, uric acid and cystatin C,negatively correlated with eGFR(r=-0.739,P<0.001).Conclusion:The level of serum ProGRP in patients with CKD is higher than that in healthy people, and it is gradually increased with the increase of stage of CKD.The level of serum ProGRP is correlated with the detection indicators of renal function. The level of serum ProGRP can be used to assess the severity of CKD in clinic.
