Effect of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Combined with Pressing Needle on Lateral Humeral Epicondylitis
Objective:To investigate the curative effect of external shock wave combined with pressing needle in the treatment of lateral humeral epicondylitis.Methods:60 patients with lateral humeral epicondylitis admitted to the hospital from September 2019 to September 2022 were divided into two groups according to the random number table method.30 patients in the control group were treated with external shock wave therapy, while 30 patients in the research group were treated with external shock wave therapy combined with pressing needle therapy. The clinical efficacy, degree of pain, elbow joint function(Mayo Elbow Joint Function),and activities of daily living(Barthel Index)were evaluated. Results:The clinical efficacy of the study group was better than that of the control group(x2=4.320,P<0.05).After 1 week and 1 month of treatment, the visual analogy scale(VAS)scores of both groups decreased, and the study group was lower than the control group(F=42.79,535.80;P<0.05).1 week and 1 month after treatment, the Mayo Elbow Joint Function scores and Barthel Index scores of both groups increased, and the study group was higher than the control group(F=13.96,17.33,23.32,15.24,143.00,102.90,65.81,187.30,79.41,15.06;P<0.05).Conclusion:ESW combined with pressing needle treatment of lateral humeral epicondylitis is effective. It can effectively reduce the pain of patients, improve elbow function, and improve the ability of daily living of patients.
