Efficacy of Escitalopram and Sertraline in Patients with Depression and Anxiety Symptoms
Objective:To investigate the effects of Escitalopram and sertraline on patients with depression and anxiety symptoms. Methods:Patients with depression and anxiety symptoms admitted to the hospital from October 2021 to February 2023 were divided into control group and observation group according to different treatment methods.80 cases in the control group were treated with sertraline, and 80 cases in the observation group were treated with escitalopram. The clinical efficacy, degree of depression, degree of anxiety symptoms and occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:After 12 weeks of treatment, the total effective rate of observation group(88.75%)was higher than that of control group(77.50%),and there was no statistical difference between the two groups(x2=2.488,P>0.05).Before treatment, there was no significant difference in HAMD scores between the two groups(x2=0.572,P>0.05).HAMD scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group after 4 and 8 weeks of treatment(t=10.934,15.746;P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in HAMD scores between the two groups after 12 weeks of treatment(t=1.789,P>0.05).Before treatment, there was no significant difference in HAMA scores between the two groups(t=0.377,P>0.05).The HAMA scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group after 4 and 8 weeks of treatment(t=13.694,22.196;P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in HAMA scores between the two groups after 12 weeks of treatment(t=1.899,P>0.05).After 12 weeks of treatment, the incidence of adverse reactions was 17.50%in the observation group and 38.75%in the control group(x2=8.935,P<0.05).Conclusion:Both Escitalopram and sertraline can effectively treat patients with depression and anxiety symptoms, and Escitalopram has fast effect, with few adverse reactions and high drug safety. It has certain clinical application value.
