Biological Significance of KLHL5 in Protein Ubiquitination Modification
Ubiquitin is an important protein modification method, which regulates the function and stability of target proteins by covalently binding ubiquitin to target proteins, and regulates the immune system at the molecular and cellular levels.Recent studies have found that the actin-binding protein KLHL5 is involved in the process of ubiquitination modification.KLHL5 regulates a variety of cellular physiological processes, including proteasome degradation, transcription regulation,protein-protein interactions, endocytosis, autophagy,DNA repair, and cell cycle regulation, through the synergistic action of E3 ubiquitin ligase and ubiquitin. It has an important impact on the regulation of the immune system, and the occurrence and development of related diseases. The effect of ubiquitination process involving KLHL5 on protein modification was reviewed.
